What do i need to include in my quote to a customer?

When you receive a job request in your dashboard and you want to send the customer a quote, think of it as a cover letter. This is your first contact with the customer, so you want to make a good impression.

BUT FIRST, you should ensure that your business profile page is as complete as possible. Put in a complete business description, detailed services, and lots of high-quality photos that gives customers more confidence in your experience and abilities.

THEN, you should also ask your previous customers to write their review on your business profile page.

Improving your quote

What you should INCLUDE:

  1. Introduce yourself by name. “Hello this is Adam from XYZ Designs”
  2. Why you are suitable for the job. “We have been building kitchens for 15 years.”
  3. Repeat the customer’s requirements so they know you understood it. “I understand you are trying to install a set of kitchen cabinets for your terrace house in Ampang”
  4. Give a cost estimate, with some breakdown of what it does and doesn’t include. Even if there is not enough info, you can give an idea of what your past jobs have cost. “We have done kitchen cabinets of your size for around $XXXX, with $X extra for laminate corners. However, this did not include special paint coating”
  5. Ask for more details, or set an appointment. “To give you a more accurate quote, can you answer the questions below (ask your questions)”
  6. Share samples of past work that is similar to this job.
  7. Your contact details where they can reach you.

What you should AVOID:

  1. A single message to “Please call me at 012-345 6789”. Customers may think you are not sincere.
  2. A quote of zero. It doesn’t give the customer a sense of your range.
