How does Recommend.my charge commission to service providers

Starting from 3rd March 2025, we will move to a commission model for all service providers on Recommend.my.

In our commission model, we use RecommendPay to collect payments from customers , and the money is released to service providers, minus our commission percentage.

What happens to my credits?

Service providers still need to buy Recommend.my credits, and use them to take new jobs.

But, when a customer pays for your service using RecommendPay, you will get your credits back! That means you don’t need to keep doing credit top up so often.

When a customer pays for your service using RecommendPay:

  1. We will refund 100% of your connection credits

Example: If you spent 45 credits to accept an aircon servicing job, you get 45 credits back
  2. We will refund 100% of your final credit adjustment

Example: You accepted a RM150 aircon job for 45 credits. But the final job amount was higher at RM600. Normally, this would result in additional credit deduction. But since the customer paid using RecommendPay, there is no additional deduction. You get all your credits back.

Do you also include government Sales & Service Tax (SST)?

Yes, we are required to include SST. But, SST is only applied to the commission amount. It is not applied to the total cost of the job.

Example: Customer paid RM500 for a handyman job using RecommendPay. If our commission is 5% (i.e. RM25), then that 5% is subject to SST. So, the SST amount is RM2. When the money is released to you, you will receive RM500 minus RM27. And. all your credits will be refunded as per 1 and 2 above.

When will Recommend.my start to deduct commissions?

This change will take place on 3rd March 2025. Please make sure you have updated your bank account details so that you can receive your payouts.

Note: For payments made through other methods (non-RecommendPay), the usual credit charges will apply.
