How does Recommend charge service professionals?

All charges to service professionals are done through Recommend Credits. You need to buy Recommend Credit Packages in order to use many of the features in Recommend.my. These include:

  1. Maintaining a business profile listing on Recommend.my
  2. Responding to “request for quotation” from customers, for example big projects like renovations
  3. Responding to “express booking” jobs from customers, for example on-demand jobs like house cleaning
  4. Getting calls or WhatsApp enquiries through your business listing
  5. Getting priority access to new jobs as a Business Priority Pro
  6. Completing a job

More details for each listed item are added below:

1. Maintaining a business profile listing on Recommend.my

Having a well-maintained business profile is extremely important to bring in new customers. For example, an active handyman in Petaling Jaya with lots of reviews and photos, will have a higher chance of appearing in Google Search results, as well as in Recommend.my Pro Directory

To maintain and enhance your business profile on Recommend.my, we charge 50 credits per month, for every 10 categories that you are listed in.

2. Responding to “request for quotation”

When you view the details of a new job, it will show the amount of Recommend Credits that you must have to submit a quote / accept a booking

The credits that you will be charged to quote or accept a job will change depending on the service category and/or the budget of the request.

You must have enough Recommend Credits in your account, or else you won’t be able to submit a quote / accept a booking.

If you do not have enough credits, you can buy more on the spot.

When you submit a quote (example: for renovation job):

  • Your Recommend Credits are NOT deducted immediately. We will only deduct Recommend Credits if the customer responds to your quote. A customer is considered to have responded to your quote if they click “Please call me”, or click on your telephone number, or add their first comment to your quote. Once they respond to your quote, then you will see the customer contact details, and your credits are deducted. You will not be charged any credits if they never responded to your quote.

3. Responding to “express booking”

For express bookings, such as house cleaning or aircon servicing, your Recommend Credits will be deducted immediately when you accept the job. You will also see the customer contact details immediately.

If you run out of Recommend Credits, you will not be able to respond to job requests.

If you do not have enough credits, you can buy more on the spot.

4. Getting calls or WhatsApp enquiries through your business listing

Customers can also contact you if they click the CALL or WHATSAPP buttons on your business profile.

This will allow them to contact you directly, without needing to fill in a request form.

There will be a credit change of 10 credits for each new customer that contacts you via this method.

5. Completing a job

Once you have done all the work for a customer, you will need to mark your job as “completed”.

Depending on the final amount that you billed to the customer, your credits will be adjusted accordingly as a percentage of the final job amount (known as the advertising fee). For example, if the original request was for RM100, but the final bill is RM150, additional credits will be deducted during the adjustment. If the final bill is lower, credits will be refunded.
